On Monday, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya in Churachandpur hosted a career counselling session organized by the Khuga Battalion of Assam Rifles, aimed at guiding students towards significant career paths, particularly in the Indian Army. An officer from the Battalion presented an informative talk titled “Indian Army: A Way of Life,” which introduced the students to the various career opportunities in the armed forces. The session underscored the appealing traits of a career in the Indian Army, such as discipline, leadership, courage, and commitment, and familiarized students with different entry schemes including the National Defence Academy (NDA), Combined Defence Services (CDS), Short Service Commission (SSC), and Technical Entry Scheme (TES). The event drew participation from 60 students in classes VIII to XII, comprising 37 boys and 23 girls, alongside the School Counsellor and Principal, as noted in a press release from IGAR(S).
