JK Tyre’s Indian Racing Festival electrifies Shillong with high-octane motorsports

The scenic hills of Laitkor turned into a motorsport paradise as the JK Tyre powered Indian Racing Festival wrapped up its electrifying edition in Meghalaya. Hosted in collaboration with the Meghalaya Motorsport Society and Assam Rifles, the high-energy event took place at the DGAR Cantonment, attracting motorsport enthusiasts and thrill-seekers alike.

Graced by Lieutenant General Vikas Lakhera, Director General Assam Rifles, and Rosetta Mary Kurbah, Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills, the event featured spectacular drifting displays by Lexus and BMW cars, adrenaline-charged stunts on superbikes, and impressive performances by young karting stars on their Rotax Karts. Traditional performances by students of Martin Luther Christian University further heightened the event’s vibrant atmosphere.

Lt. Gen. Lakhera expressed his enthusiasm, saying, “Sports have a unique way of spreading joy and positivity. Assam Rifles has long supported such initiatives, and today’s event truly showcased the thrill of motorsport.” Hari Singh, Head of Operations – JK Tyre Motorsport, also shared his excitement, emphasizing the region’s enthusiasm for motorsports. Shillong’s growing interest in motorsports is evident as events like these stimulate local enthusiasm, offering both entertainment and opportunities for young aspiring racers to connect with the global motorsport community. The festival now heads to Guwahati and Gangtok, bringing the thrill to even more fans in the Northeast.
