K. Ravi Kumar, the chief electoral officer of Jharkhand, declared on Friday that legendary cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni will work with the Election Commission to raise voter awareness ahead of the state’s next assembly elections. The results of the assembly elections will be revealed on November 23 after they are held in two parts on November 13 and 20. Kumar told the media that Dhoni, who hails from Ranchi, wrote to the Election Commission indicating his interest in taking part in the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) program. In order to boost voter turnout, the Election Commission intends to use Dhoni’s reputation and popularity to persuade more people to exercise their right to vote,” Kumar stated.
In order to boost the voter awareness drive, Dhoni will collaborate closely with the Jharkhand office of the Chief Electoral Officer. Kumar emphasized that the SVEEP effort will be greatly strengthened by the participation of a well-known figure like Dhoni. The examination of nominations is set for October 28, and the deadline for withdrawal of nominations is October 30, as the nomination period for the first round of elections ends on Friday.
