JEE Main 2025 registration opens: CSAB urges North-East students to apply

The Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) 2025 has urged students from the North-East (NE) to register for JEE Main 2025, emphasizing the benefits of reserved seats and dedicated counselling support. The appeal was made during a press conference at the Kohima Press Club on February 11, 2025, led by NIT Rourkela’s Prof. AnindyaBasu, Chairman of the Local Organising Committee, along with Prof. Pankaj Kumar Sa and Prof. Surajit Das.

CSAB 2025 Chairperson Prof. K. UmamaheshwarRao highlighted the potential of students from Nagaland and encouraged them to utilize JEE Main as a gateway to premier engineering institutions. “With focused study and time management, students can excel in the exam, securing admission to top NIT+ system institutions,” he said. CSAB 2025 has set up counsellingcentres at the state level and a multilingual help desk to guide candidates through the admission process.

JEE Main 2025 registration for Session 2 (April) began on January 31 and will close on February 24. Nearly 24,000 seats are available across NITs in India, with 2,000 seats reserved under the State Quota for NE states and 740 seats under the CSAB-NEUT category.

The NIT+ system, which includes 31 NITs, 26 IIITs, 3 SPAs, and 37 GFTIs, offers high-quality education, strong industry connections, and excellent career prospects. Graduates from these institutions secure roles in leading organizations such as ISRO, DRDO, Amazon, and NTPC.

Kohima has witnessed increasing demand for technical expertise, with businesses and startups seeking professionals skilled in AI, data science, and engineering. CSAB’s initiative is expected to bridge the gap by encouraging local students to pursue technical education and contribute to the region’s economic growth. CSAB 2025 has planned further outreach efforts, including a press conference in Mizoram on February 14, to boost awareness and participation among NE students.
