Jamshedpur: Ram Navami immersion passes peacefully, ‘bandh’ call lifted

The Central Ramanavami Akhara Committee (CRAC) announced on Friday that it had dropped its request for a Jamshedpur “bandh” and has decided to immerse its Ram Navami flags with those of other akharas (religious groups).
In order to protest the seizure of the vehicle with the music system and trailer that belonged to Sri Bal Mandir, CRAC, which is led by a local BJP politician, had already decided not to participate in the Ramanavami parade.
In support of their demands, CRAC, together with a few other religious organisations, set up dharna on the streets of the industrial city, including in Jugsalai. They chanted anti-administration slogans and declared a dusk to dawn closure of Jamshedpur city on Saturday.
