Investigation in Assam for bribery

Five government officials and a driver were arrested by Assam directorate of vigilance and anti-corruption on Thursday and Friday.

According to the sources, the accused were caught red handed while allegedly accepting bribes. The arrest was done in different parts of the state Kamrup, Nagaon and Goalpara districts.


In the first trap laid on Friday, vigilance sleuths arrested a lat mandal, Pranjal Bora in the Koliabor revenue circle in Nagaon district. Second, Bidyadhar Das, Senior Asstt. O/O the Registrar Cooperative Society at Khanapara, Guwahati.

Along with these other accused are Sh Bajlul Basit Sarkar, block elementary education officer, Rajesh Roy lat Mandal under Sonapur and his driver Rantu Kalita.
