Intensified Manipur Crackdown Nets Rifles, Pistols, Grenades and Communication Gear

A large cache of arms and ammunition was recovered by security forces in Manipur during two separate incidents. On Friday, they seized weapons from areas near Ngairangbam and Khongakhul villages in Imphal West, including a modified .303 rifle, a local-made SBBL, five pistols with magazines, one air pistol, a grenade, 20 rounds of .303 ammunition, a Baofeng hand-held set with charger, and a bulletproof jacket cover. Additionally, further recoveries were made from the foothills of the Chanung Range, which included another .303 rifle, an SLR, eight SBBL rifles, a revolver, and a .22 pistol with a magazine. Security forces are actively conducting searches and area domination across vulnerable districts, with 115 checkpoints established throughout Manipur. The movement of 230 vehicles carrying essential goods along NH-37 is being facilitated under strict security protocols to ensure safety in sensitive locations.
