India has proudly commenced its journey on the Asian skills stage today as the Indian contingent arrived in Chinese Taipei for the Opening Ceremony of the WorldSkills Asia Competition (WSAC) 2025. Making its first-ever appearance at Asia WorldSkills Competition 2025, India is represented by a team of 23 competitors and 21 experts supported by the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE) with National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) being its implementation arm. The team will showcase India’s excellence across 21 cutting-edge skill categories, marking a significant step towards positioning the nation as the Skill Capital of the World. The contingent is accompanied by Shri Gyan Bhushan, Senior Economic Advisor, MSDE. The competitors will participate in high-demand and emerging skill categories, including Mobile Robotics, Mechatronics, CNC Milling, Digital & IT Skills, Web Development, Automotive Technology, Graphic Design Technology, Beauty Therapy, Fashion Technology and more, demonstrating India’s growing strength in the global skills ecosystem.
The third edition of WSAC officially commenced today with a grand opening ceremony, bringing together over 500 competitors from 29 Asian and guest countries who will compete across 44 skill categories, including 36 official skills and 2 exhibition skills. India will compete alongside countries such as Chinese Taipei, Japan, Korea, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Uzbekistan, and Iran at one of Asia’s largest international skill championships attended by industry leaders, global organizations, policymakers, and academic institutions. There are skill categories for juniors as well.
Participation in WorldSkills Asia will not only boost the confidence and global exposure of our young professionals but also open pathways to high-value career and enterprise opportunities. India’s participation reflects its commitment to strengthening its role in the global skills movement and advancing its vision of becoming the Skill Capital of the World. The championship will conclude on 29th November.
