Under India’s G20 Presidency, the G20 Sustainable Finance Working Group (SFWG) began its final day of the meeting on Wednesday morning, along with the International Day of Yoga being celebrated at the picturesque Coast Temple in Mahabalipuram. A refreshing yoga session was organized for the G20 delegates along with the participants of the National Institute of Siddha.
The last day of the meeting was focused on capacity building of the ecosystem for financing sustainable development, mobilizing resources for climate change, and addressing ecological issues. Updated recommendations were presented to delegates, discussing barriers to climate-related investments. On the sidelines of the meeting, a workshop was organized wherein, Ms. Geetu Joshi, Adviser, Ministry of Finance, Govt.
of India, said that “Achieving the 2030 climate targets will be essential to understanding the financial risks, opportunities, and impacts associated with activities.” During the workshop, deliberations on how to mobilize climate and social finance to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) took place.
