An Indian Army contingent has left for the UAE to participate in the India-UAE Joint Military Exercise DESERT CYCLONE-II from 18 to 30 December 2025 in Abu Dhabi. The Indian force consists of 45 personnel from The Mechanised Infantry Regiment, while the UAE Land Forces will also be represented by a contingent of similar size. The exercise aims to enhance interoperability and defense cooperation, focusing on sub-conventional operations under a UN mandate. Troops will conduct joint training on various tactical drills, including urban combat, heliborne operations, and the integration of UAS techniques. This exercise follows successful high-level visits, further strengthening military ties and strategic partnerships between India and the UAE, aimed at promoting regional peace, security, and stability.
