Ekanthraj switched from areca nut and coconut cultivation to pomegranate farming in Karnataka’s dry Kadur region of Chikmagalur. He harvests a whopping 50 kg of pomegranates per plant against the national average of 35 kg and makes an annual profit of 1.7 crore rupees. He sells the pomegranates at 180 rupees to 200 rupees per kg and also exports them to Bangladesh. This is actually very interesting news and we can learn many things from it.
