Branded under the Smart City project in Shillong, the mechanised multi-level parking lot at Motphran is actually expected to be completed in another 9 months from now.
In fact it may be noted that only 20 per cent of the project work has been completed in the last 20 months since being awarded. In reality the contract for the project was awarded in March 2022. If you see the physical progress, as of end of November 2023, is a mere 20 per cent, while the financial progress of the project in the same period is 15.88 per cent. Actually the project is being implemented by M/S LT Elevator Pvt Ltd in a joint venture with M/S Bungsing Sohphoh. The project is expected to be completed by September 30 next year.
Today different types of construction are going on and actually it will give benefit to the people. The important thing which came is completing this project in time and correctly. Presently population is increasing very fast and for this there is scarcity of space. In reality it becomes need to manage the space and construct smart parking lot.
