Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh conducted an inspection of the Imphal River rejuvenation project, which aims to clean the river water and lower its Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD). The visit included an assessment of eco-embankment construction along the river near Lamlong bridge, where a pilot project spanning 100 meters is underway to mitigate bank erosion and enhance water quality. Accompanying the Chief Minister were Arun Kumar Sinha, Principal Secretary of Forest, Environment and Climate Change, Dr. T. Brajakumar Singh, Director of Environment and Climate Change, and other officials.
Additionally, Khemchand visited Khurai Salanthong to review the development work at Pangei road, urging the implementing agency to accelerate progress for timely completion to alleviate public difficulties stemming from poor road conditions. His tour also included a check on the construction of an embankment wall along the Imphal River at Singjamei Oinam Thingel.
