ICICI Foundation’s healthcare boost transforms Northeast, elevates Shillong’s medical market

ICICI Foundation, the CSR arm of ICICI Bank, has addressed the healthcare needs of India’s North Eastern region. Since 2023, it has benefitted over 9,100 patients across Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, and Tripura, where essential medical infrastructure and healthcare services have been provided to enhance accessibility and quality of care.

Supporting crucial areas such as tuberculosis (TB) treatment, cancer care, and dialysis services, ICICI Foundation has provided over 60 medical equipment including video bronchoscopes, ultrasounds, dialysis units, and endoscopes. Additional infrastructure like blood collection vehicles, mobile medical units, emergency patient trolleys, and ambulances has further strengthened healthcare delivery in these regions.

In Assam, ICICI Foundation installed 25 dialysis units across districts like Chirang, West KarbiAnglong, Dima Hasao, Hojai, South Salmara, Udalguri, and Kokrajhar. To enhance blood collection efforts, ICICI Foundation provided a mobile blood collection unit to the Christian Institute of Health Sciences and Research (CIHSR) in Nagaland. ICICI Foundation’s support also extended to Reid Provincial Chest Hospital in Shillong, Meghalaya, where they provided a video bronchoscope.
