Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) conducted a National Road Safety Awareness Campaign in Umden, Meghalaya, aiming to promote safe riding habits among over 1800 school students and staff members. The two-day camp at St. Joseph H.S. School in Umden focused on age-appropriate learning programs to enhance road safety awareness. The campaign aimed to build a culture of safe riding habits in India and promote safe driving habits.
The program included a scientifically designed learning module, practical learning on a virtual riding simulator, interactive sessions using Kiken Yosoku Training (KYT), and Existing drivers honing riding skills through slow riding activities and riding on narrow planks. Honda also conducted daily educational activities, such as road safety games and quizzes, to ensure young students learned about road safety.
Speaking on HMSI’s commitment towards building a collision-free India, Mr. Vinay Dhingra – Senior Director, HR, Admin, IT & Corporate Affairs, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India said, “Road safety education is essential for developing a road safety mindset. With this campaign, we aim to cultivate the right road safety habits amongst the new and upcoming riders as well as help them in understanding the importance of using the roads safely.”
