Re-emphasizing the ongoing commitment to fostering a culture of safe riding in India, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) has extended its National Road Safety Awareness Campaign to the city of Midnapore (West Bengal). Honda held a two-day event at Govt. ITI, Midnapore, aimed at raising road safety awareness among over 1000 college students and staff members. The company’s road safety instructors used age-appropriate learning programs to effectively retain awareness among all participants.
HMSI in West Bengal has educated over 1.55 lakh adults and children since its inception, promoting responsible road usage and safe riding habits. Honda aims to eliminate traffic collision fatalities worldwide by 2050, focusing on instilling a positive road safety mindset in children by 2030. They are implementing road safety initiatives in schools and colleges across India, reaching over 5.7 million people.
These programs, conducted by skilled safety instructors at 10 traffic training parks and 6 Safety Driving Education Centers, combine fun and scientific learning to promote road safety. Mr. Vinay Dhingra – Senior Director, HR, Admin, IT & Corporate Affairs, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India said, “To promote this mindset, HMSI has taken the initiative to launch an extensive nationwide road safety awareness campaign.”
