Honda India Foundation (HIF) has announced “Project Buniyaad – Aathmanirbharta Ka Aadhar” today. This collaborative endeavor, launched in partnership with the Manipur State Rural Livelihood Mission and Visan Foundation, seeks to address unemployment among marginalized youth by providing comprehensive skill development and employment opportunities in the hospitality sector. The project, inaugurated by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Manipur, Shri N Biren Singh, signifies a proactive step towards community support and sustainable societal development. With Honda India Foundation serving as the funding partner, the State Government providing infrastructure and mobilization support, and Visan Foundation offering training, the project aims to ensure 100% job placement for youth from the North-eastern states in leading hotels and hospitals.
Mr. Vinay Dhingra, Trustee of Honda India Foundation, emphasized the organization’s commitment to inclusivity and societal well-being. He stated, “With Project Buniyaad, we envision a brighter future for the youth of Manipur, where learning knows no bounds and opportunities are limitless.” The initiative reflects Honda’s corporate philosophy of “Respect for the Individual” and aligns with its long-term mission of being a company that positively impacts society.
Acknowledging the challenges faced by the hospitality sector, especially in the wake of global crises like the COVID-19 pandemic, Project Buniyaad aims to address these obstacles by providing targeted training programs. Through a two-month training curriculum in Hospitality Management, facilitated by Visan Foundation and culminating in certification from the Tourism & Hospitality Skill Council, unemployed youth will be equipped with the necessary skills for dignified careers in the industry. The project sets ambitious targets, intending to train over 550 youth in the North-eastern states and provide them with opportunities for meaningful employment in Hospitality Management.
