The ceremony celebrated the completion of the training program, where 30 beneficiaries received job letters, opening doors to new employment opportunities. Launched in December 2024, Project Buniyaad was a collaborative effort between HIF and local government authorities, ensuring its smooth execution and maximum impact.

Project Buniyaad, which began in February 2024, focuses on equipping unemployed youth from marginalized communities with skills for the hospitality sector. In partnership with the Visan Foundation, the program offers training in Hospitality Management, with certification from the Tourism & Hospitality Skill Council. To date, the program has successfully trained and placed over 1500 youth across regions including Assam, Manipur, Nagaland, and Meghalaya. In Shillong, the demand for skilled professionals in the hospitality sector continues to grow, and initiatives like Project Buniyaad are perfectly aligned with local industry needs. By empowering youth with relevant skills, Honda India Foundation aims to contribute to the region’s socio-economic development, ensuring sustainable livelihoods and fostering inclusive growth.
