Honda expands road safety drive in Bahula, targets young riders

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) reinforced its commitment to road safety with an awareness campaign at Bahula S.S. High School, educating over 1,300 students and staff. The initiative aligns with Honda’s global vision to achieve zero traffic collision fatalities by 2050 and supports the Indian government’s goal of reducing road fatalities by 50% by 2030.

The campaign featured theoretical safety riding lessons, helmet awareness sessions, road safety quizzes, danger prediction training, and practical exercises using Honda’s Riding Trainer. HMSI aims to instill safe riding habits in young individuals and promote responsible road behavior. The company has educated nearly 3 lakh people in West Bengal through similar initiatives.

Bahula has seen a surge in two-wheeler usage, making road safety a pressing concern. As the region experiences rapid growth, initiatives like HMSI’s play a vital role in educating young riders and daily commuters about safe riding practices, reducing accident risks, and improving overall traffic discipline. HMSI continues to expand its outreach through 10 Traffic Training Parks, six Safety Driving Education Centers, and its digital platform, E-Gurukul, ensuring road safety education reaches diverse communities across India.
