Honda accelerates road safety mission in Contai, engages over 2,300 students

In a major CSR outreach, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) brought its national road safety campaign to Contai, West Bengal, engaging over 2,300 students and staff at Narayana School and Contai Public School. With India witnessing a surge in two-wheeler mobility, HMSI’s initiative aims to create safer roads by instilling responsible riding habits in young minds. Led by skilled HMSI instructors, the program included theory sessions, virtual riding simulators, and danger prediction training (Kiken Yosoku Training). Participants also practiced safe riding techniques, including balance and slow riding, under expert supervision. The initiative is part of HMSI’s broader vision to eliminate traffic fatalities by 2050 and aligns with the Government of India’s target of halving road deaths by 2030.

In Contai, where two-wheeler use is widespread among students and daily commuters, the campaign received strong support. Local educators praised the effort, noting its relevance in fostering a culture of safety and awareness. Businesses also welcomed the move, recognizing its long-term benefits in reducing accident-related disruptions and costs.

With platforms like E-Gurukul and ongoing on-ground programs, HMSI continues to drive inclusive road safety awareness across urban and rural India.
