A free medical camp-cum-cataract screening program for senior citizens, alongside a district-level ASHA Convention, was organized at the Pherzawl District Headquarters to enhance healthcare access. The initiative, conducted by the Social Welfare Department with partnerships from the Pherzawl District Administration and District Health Society, saw extensive participation from senior citizens who benefited from eye check-ups and cataract screenings. Those diagnosed with cataracts were referred for free surgical procedures, while others received medications for various eye issues. The event also included free health check-ups for adolescent girls under the BBBP initiative and malaria screenings, promoting preventive healthcare. Active member involvement from the Pherzawl Village Authority facilitated the camp’s success. Concurrently, the ASHA Convention 2025-2026 celebrated the contributions of Accredited Social Health Activists, enhancing collaboration in community health, with notable attendees including Deputy Commissioner Mannuamching, IAS, and Chief Medical Officer Dr. Hmanglamkhup Kom, among others.
