Health Camp Held to Provide Care to Manipur IDPs

As part of the Swachhata Action Plan 2025–26, a Swachhta Health Camp was conducted for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) at the Kwakta Sericulture Relief Camp in Bishnupur District, Manipur. This initiative, organized by the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) in collaboration with the Churachandpur Meitei United Committee (CMUC), focuses on promoting cleanliness, preventive healthcare, and overall wellness among the displaced community residing at the relief camp.

Specialist physicians from various departments at RIMS provided medical consultations, basic health check-ups, and health education on hygiene practices, sanitation, and the prevention of communicable diseases. The departments involved included Clinical Psychology, Anatomy, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PMR), Paediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, ENT, Dermatology, Community Medicine, and Ophthalmology.

During this health camp, a total of 303 beneficiaries received medical services, and free medicines were distributed, highlighting the importance of maintaining cleanliness in living areas to prevent the spread of communicable diseases. This initiative exemplifies RIMS, Imphal’s steadfast commitment to community outreach and public health promotion, particularly among vulnerable and displaced populations, aligning with the objectives of the Swachhata Action Plan 2025–26.
