HCLFoundation has unveiled the recipients of the prestigious 2024 HCLTech Grant. This year’s chosen NGOs are set to receive a staggering ₹16.5 crore (approximately $2 million) to fuel their groundbreaking projects aimed at catalyzing sustainable rural development across India.The HCLTech Grant, a flagship program of the HCLFoundation, is dedicated to supporting pioneering endeavors in environmental conservation, healthcare, and education. With a commitment of ₹146.95 crore (approximately $18 million) thus far, the program has already impacted nearly 2 million lives in over 27,500 villages across India.
For the 2024 edition, three standout NGOs have secured grants of ₹5 crore each for their ambitious four-year projects. The Corbett Foundation will focus on preserving the critically endangered Great Indian Bustard in Gujarat’s Kutch district, while Sangath aims to tackle perinatal depression and malnutrition in Madhya Pradesh. Makkala Jagriti, on the other hand, seeks to revolutionize childcare and early education in Karnataka’s Mysuru district.Additionally, six deserving NGOs will each receive grants of ₹25 lakh for one-year projects spanning environmental conservation, healthcare, and education.
Ms. Robin Ann Abrams, Chairperson of the HCLTech Grant Jury and Board Member of HCLTech, emphasized the program’s commitment to transparency and transformative impact. Dr. Nidhi Pundhir, Vice President of Global CSR at HCLTech and Director of HCLFoundation, expressed confidence in the selected NGOs’ ability to drive inclusive and sustainable development in rural India.With nearly 17,000 registrations received from NGOs across India, the selection process involved a panel of esteemed jurors, including industry stalwarts such as Mr. Shiv Nadar, Founder of HCL Group, and Ms. Pallavi Shroff, Managing Partner at Shardul AmarchandMangaldas& Co.
