According to the police inquiry into Zubeen Garg’s murder, his manager Siddharth Sharma used the money he embezzled from Garg to buy a luxurious Guwahati flat. The Assam police’s special investigation team (SIT) has filed an application in court under Section 107 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) for the attachment and forfeiture of Sharma’s residential apartment (flat No. 3A) in Orchid Hill View at the Fatasil area in Guwahati on the grounds that he bought the property with money that was embezzled from his late employer, Zubeen Garg .The attachment or forfeiture of property obtained via illegal activity is covered by Section 107 of the BNSS. Additionally, the SIT has started the process of installing Sharma’s packaged drinking water facility on the same property. Sharma is presently in judicial detention after being detained in relation to Garg’s killing.
