During a raid in the Ananda Nagar area of Guwahati, the Gorchuk Police Station seized a consignment of 360 grams of heroin, concealed in 30 soap boxes, following intelligence input. Two suspects, Shahrukh Ahmed from Amariya, Barpeta, and Jainul Khan from Rahampur, Barpeta, were arrested. In addition to the drugs, three mobile phones, including an iPhone, were confiscated by the police. The heroin, reportedly smuggled from Champai in Mizoram, has a black-market value exceeding Rs 2 crore.
