Gujarat govt paid Rs 16,900 cr in two years to Adani

The state Legislature was informed on Monday that the Gujarat government has paid Adani Power and Tata Power a total of Rs 16,900 crore for the purchase of power over the previous two years.
Data presented by Energy Minister Kanubhai Desai during Question Hour shows that in 2021 and 2022, the state government paid Adani Power Mundra Ltd. Rs. 8,160 crore and Coastal Gujarat Power Ltd. Rs. 8,784 crore, respectively.
Desai stated that the state government paid Adani Rs 2,760 crore in response to questioning from Congress MLAs regarding the purchase of electricity from these private entities.
