The Forest (Conservation) Amendment Bill, 2023 was referred to a joint committee, and Manish Tewari urged that it be reviewed by the standing committee in a letter to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on Thursday.
Tewari’s letter to Birla came a day after senior Congressman Jairam Ramesh protested the bill’s referral to a joint committee to Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar and urged that it be considered by the standing committee, which Ramesh chairs.
