Despite being the son of a filmmaker, Govinda did not live a life of luxury when he was growing up. His father, Arun Kumar Ahuja, worked as an actor in many films and later started producing films, but when one of his films flopped, the family.In the 1950s, film producers invested their own money. They used to mortgage their houses and properties to finance their films. Govinda’s father had to move from Bandra to Virar when they lost everything, and that’s when Govinda was born.
In a recent interview, the actor said that he grew up within certain reckonings. He applied for regular 9–5 jobs before establishing himself as an actor. In a chat with Simi Grewal in the late 1990s, Govinda said that once he applied for a job as a steward in a hotel, Taj rejected him.
I could not say I could not speak in front of them. They said I was not confident. When Simi asked him about it, he said, “I didn’t get the job because I could speak English. So it didn’t go anywhere.” In the same chat, Govinda said that he had completed his graduation in commerce and used to go from office to office looking for a job but could not really find a permanent one.
