Governor Honours Legacy of Maj Bob Khathing

Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla released the second edition of the coffee table book ‘The Life of the Unsung Hero – Maj. Ralengnao ‘Bob’ Khathing’ during a ceremony at Valley View, Imphal, where he also laid a wreath at Maj. Khathing’s memorial. The event was attended by notable figures, including John S. R. Khathing, Major General Gaurav Sharma, and Major General Subhankar Basu, alongside family members of the late Major.

Additionally, the ceremony recognized academic excellence by distributing the Maj. Ralengnao ‘Bob’ Khathing Meritorious Awards to outstanding students from classes X and XII. In his address, Governor Bhalla emphasized that the book not only recounts the extraordinary life of Maj. Khathing but also embodies the values of courage, integrity, and selfless service essential for nation-building. He articulated Maj. Khathing’s remarkable journey as a soldier, administrator, and diplomat.

The Governor called upon the younger generation to draw inspiration from Maj. Khathing’s discipline, humility, and dedication to the common good. He stressed that the future of the nation hinges on the youth’s commitment to unity, constructive dialogue, and peace, expressing hope that the book would motivate them to foster a peaceful, united, and prosperous society, built on collective efforts and mutual understanding.
