Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla officially launched the State-level Birth Registration Based Aadhaar Enrolment (BRBAE) service at Lok Bhavan in Imphal. This new system facilitates Aadhaar enrolment for children aged from birth to under five years by linking their birth registration numbers from the Civil Registration System through the Child Enrolment Lite Client (CELC) mobile application. The BRBAE initiative is designed to improve the transparency and efficiency of both birth certification and Aadhaar enrolment processes, addressing a significant administrative requirement and enhancing the delivery of essential citizen services.
In its first phase, 23 health facilities managed by the Directorate of Health Services, Manipur, are set to begin operations for Aadhaar enrolment, having received 23 CELC kits sanctioned by UIDAI, with a total of 31 health facilities identified for the full implementation of the BRBAE initiative. This service launch is seen as a pivotal step in establishing early identity for children and improving their access to government services.
Additionally, Governor Bhalla unveiled “Hopegrown – Black Rice,” a unique initiative from the Kangpokpi District Administration aimed at supporting displaced families in their recovery through sustainable farming practices. This program not only aims to provide economic stability through harvest income but also seeks to restore dignity and self-reliance among affected families. The Governor urged officials to explore and adapt this initiative in other districts based on local circumstances and resources, aiming to extend support to displaced and vulnerable communities.
In a related event, Governor Bhalla, along with Dr. Anupam Mishra, Vice-Chancellor of Central Agricultural University (CAU), Imphal, and other senior figures from the university, launched the University Calendar at Lok Bhavan. During this segment, the Governor engaged with the senior management from the constituent colleges of CAU, further emphasizing the ongoing educational initiatives in the region.
