Godrej Agrovet launches winter strategy to boost fish farming resilience

Godrej Agrovet Limited (Godrej Agrovet) has unveiled a comprehensive winter strategy aimed at empowering fish farmers in Bihar to tackle seasonal challenges. The cold months often lead to reduced digestive enzyme activity in fish, impacting nutrient absorption and productivity. Godrej Agrovet’s innovative approach addresses these issues with scientific solutions and community-driven initiatives.

Dhrubajyoti Bannerjee, CEO of the Aquafeed Business at Godrej Agrovet, emphasized the role of digital platforms and community engagement in supporting farmers. “By leveraging digital platforms and community-driven initiatives, we’re creating a comprehensive ecosystem that has the potential to transform how fish farmers manage seasonal productivity challenges,” he said.

The company’s digital campaign, Matsya Margadarshan, provides farmers with expert tips, infographics, and live sessions on winter fish farming through Instagram, WhatsApp, and Facebook. Initiatives like the Aqua Mitra series foster community learning, while Godrej Aqua Insiders focuses on sustainability, innovation, and women’s empowerment in aquaculture. In Nalanda, a prominent aquaculture market, this strategy is expected to revolutionize practices. Farmers are optimistic about the benefits of digital tools and sustainable methods in improving productivity during the challenging winter months.
