Lt Gen Abhijit S Pendharkar, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the Spear Corps, undertook a significant field visit to Manipur on a Monday, aiming to evaluate the prevailing security situation amidst ongoing challenges, as reported by IGAR(S). His visit included an extensive tour of critical areas within Ukhrul, Kangpokpi, Imphal East, and Imphal West districts, where he was accompanied by senior military commanders.
During the visit, Lt Gen Pendharkar received comprehensive briefings from the GOC of the Red Shield Division, IGAR (South), and other key formation leaders on the current operational dynamics in the region. His review included the assessment of Army and Assam Rifles deployments, where he engaged directly with troops to gauge their level of preparedness to address emerging threats.
He commended the professionalism and resolve of the soldiers in maintaining peace during challenging circumstances. Lt Gen Pendharkar reiterated the importance of maintaining operational readiness and directed all formations to uphold a high level of vigilance and agility, particularly in areas of volatility, to effectively counter any rapid developments in the security landscape.
