The G20 Infrastructure Working Group (IWG) meeting began in Visakhapatnam on Tuesday with 63 delegates from 40 countries, invitees and international organizations participated in the two-day meeting. The main topic of discussion was inclusive, flexible and sustainable financing of cities of the future. The meeting will continue until March 29.
The IWG meeting was attended by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and G20 delegates, who discussed the need for infrastructure and investment in the future. Cultural programs were also organized for the delegates. A total of 4 sessions were held on the first day while 3 sessions are to be held on the second day.
57 delegates from G20 countries and European countries had reached Visakhapatnam on Monday itself for the two-day conference held at the city’s Radisson Blu Hotel. A total of 2,500 strong police force has been deployed in the city to ensure that no untoward incident takes place during the event. The first G20 IWG meeting was held in Pune. The next two meetings will be held in June and October.
