Future Generali India Life Insurance (FGILI) has intensified its presence in Sikkim through a robust grassroots campaign aimed at promoting financial literacy and life insurance awareness. Marking Sikkim’s 50th statehood anniversary, FGILI, appointed by IRDAI as the lead life insurer for the state, has connected with lakhs of citizens through public meetings, workshops, digital campaigns, and community outreach.
The company has collaborated with local stakeholders, including taxi unions, dairy farmers, and police departments, to address the gap in insurance awareness among indigenous and rural populations. Special focus was given to youth engagement through interactive sessions, street plays, and outdoor installations, underlining the importance of financial protection.
In Gangtok, the campaign has sparked renewed interest in financial planning. Market vendors, small traders, and service professionals, many of whom had limited exposure to insurance products, now view life insurance as a critical safeguard for their families and businesses. This shift is expected to drive long-term demand in the financial services sector. FGILI’s efforts align with IRDAI’s ‘Insurance for All by 2047’ vision. With support from state government officials, the company is laying the foundation for a financially secure and inclusive future across Sikkim.
