Future Generali announces comprehensive strategy to boost life insurance penetration in Sikkim

Future Generali India Life Insurance Company Ltd has announced its expansive strategy to advance insurance penetration and financial inclusion in the state even further. Life Insurer plans to implement outreach initiatives to promote insurance solutions, particularly among the youth population in Sikkim’s diverse regions. They will also use localized distribution channels and curated marketing campaigns to engage with culturally distinct communities and address low insurance awareness among the indigenous population.


Future Generali India Life Insurance’s MD & CEO, Mr. Alok Rungta, graced the events, along with key team members, who will be involved in regional project management, community engagement, and local operations and customer relations. Outlining the company’s overall strategy towards achieving ‘Insurance for All’, Mr. Alok Rungta-MD & CEO at Future Generali India Life Insurance commented, “At Future Generali India Life Insurance, we are wholeheartedly committed to achieving the goal of ‘Insurance for All’ by 2047.”


Future Generali India Life Insurance will collaborate with NGOs to organize workshops, awareness camps, digital campaigns, and student-specific education initiatives in Sikkim. These activities will include interactive sessions, informative lectures, and essay writing competitions, aiming to promote financial responsibility among the student population. Mr. Pradhan, Nodal Officer for the state of Sikkim, said, “The focus of the state government is to make the government insurance schemes reach the rural masses for their holistic development which has further been stressed upon by the Chief Secretary, Shri V.B Pathak.”
The initiative aims to meet IRDAI’s revised targets for rural and social sector insurance penetration, accelerating the adoption of life insurance in Sikkim’s rural regions. Manoj Singh, State Insurance Coordinator, said, “We are confident that these efforts will significantly enhance insurance penetration and help more people in Sikkim secure their financial futures.” Elaborating on its outreach program for Sikkim, Geetanjali Chugh Kothari -India Project Head for Sikkim at Future Generali India Life Insurance added, “In order to supplement the range of BTL activities launched across cities such as Pakyong, Namchi and Gangtok, we have sketched out a comprehensive literacy drive to demystify basic insurance concepts and enhance financial literacy levels across Sikkim.”
