Security forces in Manipur apprehended four cadres of the UNLF (P) in Imphal West district and seized a fish-laden truck. The truck had been hijacked from the Maharabi-Pheidinga stretch earlier that day. The arrested individuals are Borish Sagolsem (25), Herojit Sharma (32), Asem Amar Meitei (20), and Md Salman Khan (35). Additionally, two tipper trucks used for transporting the stolen fish boxes were confiscated, and their drivers, Pukhrambam Mukhesh Singh (23), Waikhom Bijen Meitei (31), and Loukrakpam Shitaljit Singh (32), were also detained. Investigations are ongoing to assess the operation’s scope and any connections to other criminal activities, following recent violence in the area allegedly carried out by armed groups. Security forces also recovered a significant amount of arms and ammunition, including an IED.
