Manipur Police and security forces arrested four underground cadres belonging to different outfits during separate operations carried out in Bishnupur and Imphal West districts.
In Bishnupur district, police arrested an active member of PREPAK (Pro), identified as Wairokpam Atu Meitei alias Boiton (22), a resident of Phoijing Tera Makhong under Nambol Police Station. He was apprehended from his locality, and a mobile phone was recovered from his possession.
On the same day, another PREPAK cadre, Malem Heisnam alias Ngaiba (21) of Karang Maning Leikai under Keibul Lamjao Police Station, was arrested from the Thanga Chingang playground area in Bishnupur district.
Meanwhile, security forces in Imphal West district arrested a woman cadre of RPF/PLA involved in extortion activities. She was identified as Chabungbam Thaibema Devi alias Medha (49), a resident of Tera Loukrakpam Leikai under Lamphel Police Station. During the operation, officials recovered ₹1 lakh in suspected extortion money, along with a mobile phone and an Aadhaar card.
In another operation, Manipur Police arrested an active cadre of KCP (Taibanganba faction), identified as Thangjam Tomba Meitei alias Bikash (31). He is originally from Laingoubi Awang Leikai and was presently residing at Wangoo Ahallup Awang Leikai. He was arrested from his current place of residence under Kumbi Police Station in Bishnupur district.
Further investigation in all the cases is underway.
