Four Nagaland residents were honored by the Assam Rifles for their significant achievements to promoting peace, enhancing civil-military relations, and improving society. In the ceremony, which took place at the 13 Assam Rifles’ Kenguruse Hall, Director General Lt Gen Vikas Lakhera awarded medals and citations to social advocates Kenei Ritse and Neiketuno Sechü, artist Imna Yaden, and social activist K. Neingunyu Sekhose. As the past president of the Angami Public Organization and the Northern Angami Public Organization, Neingunyu Sekhose, a well-respected Kohima leader, received recognition for his contributions.
His efforts have been crucial in advancing harmony and encouraging cooperation between the community and the Assam Rifles. A well-known performer in the area, Imna Yaden, received recognition for his cultural and musical achievements. His commitment to patriotism and regional pride is demonstrated by his album Vande Mataram, which was published on the occasion of India’s 78th Independence Day, and the theme song he wrote for the Captain Kenguruse MVC Memorial Football Tournament.
Miss Northeast 2023 winner Kenei Ritse has been an outspoken supporter of youth empowerment, drug addiction prevention, and mental health awareness. Neiketuno Sechü, Miss Nagaland 2023 and a representative at Miss India Grand 2024, has also promoted humanitarian problems and highlighted Nagaland’s traditional history through her position. Both have worked together with Assam Rifles on the Breaking the Silence program, which aims to empower society and address mental health issues.
