Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde visited the Kamakhya Temple in Guwahati on his 62nd birthday, reflecting on significant personal and political connections to the site. Born on February 9, 1964, in Dare village of Maharashtra’s Satara district, Shinde has a deep respect for the temple. Notably, over three years ago, he and 39 rebel MLAs visited the shrine seeking blessings after a revolt against the Shiv Sena leadership, which included then Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray. During his visit to Guwahati, Shinde also met with Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, focusing their discussions on enhancing the economic and cultural ties between Assam and Maharashtra. Sarma extended warm birthday wishes to Shinde during their meeting.
