Deputy Chief Minister Losii Dikho has announced that the Manipur Legislative Assembly’s budget session is expected to occur in the second week of March. After a four-day visit to New Delhi, Dikho described his meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi as “very positive,” noting Modi’s happiness during their discussions. In addition to Modi, Dikho, along with Chief Minister Y Khemchand Singh and Deputy Chief Minister Nemcha Kipgen, met with several key national leaders including Home Minister Amit Shah and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh. They departed Imphal on February 21 ahead of a widely anticipated cabinet expansion, regarding which further details were not provided by Dikho. The Chief Minister briefed Modi on the government’s initiatives aimed at fostering peace and harmony in Manipur and emphasized the importance of women’s empowerment in both hilly and valley regions. Concurrently, BJP MLA T Robindro condemned a recent incident of racial abuse against three women from Arunachal Pradesh in New Delhi, asserting that authorities are taking action in response to the matter.
