On Wednesday, a joint committee meeting for area differences in Block I was held at the State Convention Centre between Assam and Meghalaya Ministers.
The meeting was held between the Ministers, Deputy CM and chairman of the West Jaintia Hills district regional committee, Sniawbhalang Dhar and Assam Minister Pijush Hazarika.
Dhar reported the media about the meeting, he first meeting discussed how to carry forward negotiations regarding areas under Block-I in order to arrive at a permanent solution to the inter-state boundary issue.
Also for both the state Assam and Meghalaya committees have decided to submit the area reports by August to their respective government.
