The ongoing National Integration Tour (NIT) organized by Assam Rifles is currently in Dimapur, involving representatives from the Tengnoupal, Chandel, and Kakching districts. This 15-day initiative, with a delegation of 23 members and 68 accompanying officials and troops, aims to foster national unity, enhance civil-military cooperation, and broaden perspectives on governance and development. On February 21, the group engaged with the General Officer Commanding (GOC), 3 Corps, discussing the significance of civil-military synergy and the positive contributions of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) in community development, conflict resolution, and nation-building. This interaction offered insights into the responsibilities of the Indian Army and Assam Rifles regarding national security and peace promotion in the Northeastern region, as reported by IGAR(S). The dialogue fostered trust between armed forces and civil society, emphasizing shared responsibilities in maintaining peace and stability. Following this interaction, the delegation continued by bus to Kohima for the next phase of the tour, which plays a crucial role in enhancing people-centered engagement and fostering harmonious relationships across the region.
