The Congress said on Friday that it was now time for the party to take on the task of fostering opposition unity in a “systematic approach” in response to statements made by opposition leaders denouncing Rahul Gandhi’s expulsion from the Lok Sabha.
The grand old party further said that because it has been working with diverse opposition groups in Parliament, coordination must now extend beyond of the two Houses.
Following Rahul Gandhi’s disqualification from the Lok Sabha due to his conviction by a Gujarat court in a defamation case, leaders of nearly all opposition parties rallied around him on Friday and accused the BJP of engaging in “vindictive politics.”
