Naga and Kuki MLAs joined the conference organized by the then-MHA in Delhi. Awangbow Newmai, a Naga MLA, went on to say that the conference was called on the initiative of the MHA to find a solution to Manipur’s long-running conflict. He stated that Meetei, Kuki, and Naga MLAs attended the meeting, which marks the beginning of a peace initiative. The Minister stated that the meeting determined to share equal responsibilities for restoring normality in Manipur. Another conference will be held shortly to find a long-term solution to the crisis in Manipur.
The Minister is hopeful that the MHA will launch several steps to restore normalcy in the state. Before the conference began, Kuki MLAs met separately with the Central leadership; the Naga MLA stated that he was unaware of the claim.
