CM Neiphiu Rio advocates for peace, unity at Khaozaosie Hok-Ah festival

Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio emphasized the role of festivals in fostering peace, unity, and harmony among communities during the celebration of the Khaozaosie Hok-Ah Festival in Thonoknyu town on January 21, 2025. Speaking as the special guest, Rio extended his greetings to the Khiamniungan community and called for strengthening bonds through such cultural events. “Festivals like Khozaosie Hok-Ah remind us of our deep-rooted traditions and serve as platforms to unite as one people, prioritizing peace and harmony,” he stated.

Rio highlighted Noklak’s strategic location along the international boundary, urging the community to prioritize harmony as a foundation for progress. He also encouraged the youth to take pride in their heritage and actively preserve the rich cultural legacy of their forefathers. The celebration featured cultural performances, festival greetings by MLA Benei M Lamthiu, and insights into the festival’s significance by former Khiamniungan Tribal Council (KTC) treasurer M. Ngon. CM Rio inaugurated handicraft stalls and inspected cultural troupes as part of the event.

The festival, organized by the Khiamniungan Tribal Council with government support, underscored the importance of unity in celebrating Nagaland’s diversity. Rio reaffirmed his commitment to fostering an inclusive and peaceful environment for the state’s progress.
