China Used India-Pak Conflict As ‘Live Lab’

During a FICCI seminar, Lt Gen Rahul R Singh, Deputy Chief of Army Staff, said China used the May 7–10 India-Pakistan conflict as a “live lab” to test weapons and supported Pakistan under its ancient strategy of “killing with a borrowed knife.” He revealed that China provided real-time satellite intelligence to Islamabad, while 81% of Pakistan’s military hardware came from China. Singh noted that Turkiye also supplied military equipment to Pakistan, effectively making India face three adversaries. He emphasized that China prefers using Pakistan to hurt India rather than direct confrontation. The conflict began after the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 people, prompting India to launch Operation Sindoor to strike terrorist camps in Pakistan-controlled areas. Singh stressed the need for India to draw strategic lessons from this multi-front challenge.
