Celebrations Held for 3rd Anniversary of NNMWA Kakching

NN Mangang Wushu Academy commemorated its 3rd Foundation Day at its hall in Turel Achouba Pareng, Moirangthem Leikai, Kakching, focusing on nurturing young talent and fostering a vibrant sporting culture. The celebration featured Naorem Sanjitkumar, Caretaker Chairperson of Kakching Municipal Council and President of Kakching District Wushu Association, as the chief guest, along with Mayanglambam Romesh, President of the academy, presiding over the function. Notable guests included Ng. Sunita and Pukhrambam Subashchandra, both Deputy Youth Affairs and Sports Officers.

During his address, Sanjitkumar highlighted Manipur’s significant potential in sports, underscoring the state’s accomplishments on national and international platforms. He articulated that sports play a crucial role in shaping the mindset, discipline, and character of the youth. However, he raised concerns about the impact of ongoing social unrest and political upheaval on the mental health and development of athletes, stressing the necessity for a united effort to nurture talented individuals while cultivating a supportive society. He assured attendees of the Kakching Municipal Council’s commitment to providing comprehensive support for developing athletic talent.

The academy’s founder, Naorem Niroda, who is a police constable and committed coach, has trained numerous athletes, including an international Wushu player, 11 national-level competitors, and many state-level participants from Kakching district. This event marked a continuation of the academy’s mission to promote Wushu and cultivate young sporting talents in the region, furthering its legacy in contributing to the sport.
