CEAT announces the launch of CEAT ROCKRAD

Tyre major CEAT has launched ROCKRAD, its first radial tyre specifically designed for the mining sector, marking a strategic leap into one of the most demanding tyre application segments. The new tyre is engineered to tackle rough terrains and extreme load-haul operations, reinforcing CEAT’s credentials in the Truck and Bus Radial (TBR) space.

Tested extensively across Barbil’s mining sites in Odisha and rugged Indonesian landscapes, the ROCKRAD is tailored for durability, superior grip, and extended mileage. Its innovative S-Type tread pattern enables optimal pressure distribution, while a specially formulated sidewall compound provides high cut resistance without compromising flexibility. ROCKRAD will initially be offered in size 11.00R20 and will be deployed across major mining regions including Odisha, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu.

In Asansol, a key logistics and mining hub in West Bengal, local fleet operators view the ROCKRAD as a timely innovation. “Radialisation is the future,” said a regional distributor, citing increased demand for tyres that offer better heat resistance and longer life in coal and stone quarrying operations.
