Castrol India appoints Kedar Lele as Managing Director, expands focus on Kolkata

Castrol India Limited has appointed Kedar Lele as its new Managing Director, effective 1 November 2024, as Sandeep Sangwan transitions to the role of Global Chief Marketing Officer at Castrol’s London headquarters. Lele, previously Executive Director at Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL), brings over 20 years of experience in sales and customer development across South Asia, positioning him to drive growth and innovation at Castrol India.

Rakesh Makhija, Chairman of Castrol India, praised Lele’s expertise, saying, “Kedar’s leadership and experience in navigating complex markets make him the ideal choice to lead Castrol India.”

Lele’s familiarity with Kolkata is expected to reinforce Castrol’s footprint in the region. Reflecting on his experience in Kolkata, Lele noted, “My time here underscored the importance of tailoring strategies to meet diverse customer needs. I’m eager to apply these learnings to further expand our localized offerings in the region.” Castrol’s extensive network in Kolkata spans over 1,000 service points, including Castrol Auto Service centers and bike points, meeting the automotive needs of the city’s consumers.
