Canada has announced a new visa policy targeting digital workers, engineers, and tech entrepreneurs under its ‘Digital Nomad Visa’ program. The visa allows global talent to live and work in Canada for up to two years with an option for permanent residency.
Immigration Minister Marc Miller said the initiative would address labor shortages in key innovation sectors. It also offers family relocation benefits and access to Canadian healthcare and education.
Tech professionals in India, Nepal, and Bangladesh have shown strong interest. Bangladesh’s BASIS organization has launched an advisory cell to guide applicants, while Nepalese tech forums are hosting webinars on eligibility. Bhutan’s National IT Center is also encouraging young developers to explore such global opportunities.
